Ever sit down for 5 minutes and suddenly remember 6 things you forgot to do? And then you look at your to-do list to jog your memory. You know, the one that seems never-ending but also keeps growing as soon as you check something off you’re adding something to the bottom. Between the to-do list at work and the one you’re probably trying not to think about right now (home), life can be a bit overwhelming.
What if I told you there was a way to help manage that to-do list better and maybe finish some of those tasks in record-breaking time? Introducing ChatGPT. This simple tool can help you tackle even the trickiest of tasks..or at least get you started. I have been using this program for over a year, and what took me hours to complete now is done in a few minutes. And if I am being honest, it’s better than your favorite search engine.
So let’s talk about how ChatGPT can help save your sanity and tackle that to-do list.
How ChatGPT Can Be Your Secret Weapon for Time Management (Without Adding More Stress)
Streamline Your Daily Schedule
We all know our schedules can get out of hand. And if you’re scatterbrained like I am you probably were distracted by shiny objects all day and got off track or worse forgot what you even needed to do. Don’t worry, ChatGPTs got you covered.
Have ChatGPT create your daily or weekly to-do lists. Simply give it a list of the items you need to complete and ask it to prioritize tasks or split them into manageable tasks. To really dive deep with this also gives ChatGPT an idea of what is going on in your day, maybe you can only accomplish these tasks during a certain period of the day because of a meeting or appointment. Give it a rundown of your non-negotiables that can’t be rescheduled along with your tasks and let it do its magic.
Example prompt: Pretend you are my assistant and based on my current schedule help me break down the following tasks for today into 30-minute blocks.
Meal Planning in Minutes
How often do you stare inside your fridge or pantry wondering what you want to cook for the week? Sometimes meal planning is hard, especially when juggling all the different tastebuds in your household. This past week I decided I was going to get ahead of the game before a big snowstorm. To change our diet to more nutritious nutrient rich meals. I looked to ChatGPT for help. Not only did it give me meal ideas, but it also gave me recipes and a grocery shopping list. And as a bonus, I was able to get quick sauce recipes to go with some of our meals. No store-bought teriyaki packed with high fructose corn syrup for us. Ready to go from meal scrambling success to meals your kids will eat? Send ChatGPT a list of the items on your no-no list and the things your family loves and let it do its magic.
Example prompt: Give me 5 easy dinner meals with recipes that can be made in 30 minutes, for picky-eating kids who love steak, salmon, and occasionally broccoli.
*** Once it creates the list for you you can also ask it to generate a grocery list for all of the meals it suggests or you can specifically tell it which ones you want a grocery list for.
Plan a Trip Itinerary
Have you ever wanted to plan a quick getaway but don’t exactly where or what to do? My kids had an extra few days this winter break before heading back to school, and I figured we could try skiing. So I went to ChatGPT to get help planning a 4-day ski trip to New Hampshire. We planned many of the details, where we would eat, what we would cook, and what snacks for ski days. Except for our lodging, which I found on VBRO, our entire trip was planned using ChatGPT.
Example prompt: Help me plan a weekend camping trip to the Shenandoah Valley for a family of 4. I would like ideas for simple campfire breakfasts, dinners, and lunches we can pack for during the day. In addition to meals please give me a list of 3 hikes that are easy enough for 7 and 8-year-olds to traverse and any additional tips and items
Using AI isn’t about taking shortcuts or doing less—it’s about working smarter, not harder. Think of it as your extra set of hands (or brain!) when the load gets heavy. By letting ChatGPT handle the small stuff, you create space to focus on what really matters—like being present with your family.
Give one of these ideas a try and see how it transforms your day! If you’re ready to unlock even more ways ChatGPT can save your sanity, check out my eBook: Busy Mom’s Guide to Crushing It with ChatGPT. It’s packed with practical tips to help you take back control of your time.
